I never had the desire to visit Oakland Coliseum as a fan, and after reading this story on ESPN.com (courtesy of the Associated Press), I'm glad I never had to work there as a sports writer, either. Let's just say there is a design flaw in the stadium's construction -- one that really stinks.
Meanwhile, the American League West-leading A's visit Arlington for the next four days to meet the second-place Texas Rangers in what could be a make-or-break series for the Rangers. They've lost six in a row, but they are only three games behind Oakland. This would be the perfect time for Texas to turn around and sweep the A's -- or at least take three out of four. Anything less might keep the Rangers chasing Oakland through the All-Star Break or beyond.
