A Bear for life

Rather than extend his NFL career by going to another team, Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher announced his retirement via Twitter and WhoSay.com today.

Urlacher's statement

While Urlacher never got to hoist the Vince Lombardi Trophy (he came close in 2006 when the Bears lost to Indianapolis in the Super Bowl), he certainly has done everything else a linebacker can do in a pro career (1,037 solo tackles, 41.5 sacks, 22 interceptions).

Have fun in retirement, Mr. Urlacher.
