The decision means Cruz will be in training camp on time next month, which should help Giants fans breathe a little easier. After all, the only other reliable receiver Eli Manning has on the current roster is Hakeem Nicks, and Nicks doesn't find the end zone nearly as much (10 touchdowns in the last two years) as Cruz has since he joined the team in 2011 (19 touchdowns). Without Cruz, Manning might as well run the ball into the end zone himself.
Now, the next step for Cruz and the Giants is working out a contract extension. After all, the last thing Big Blue needs is to try to find a replacement for the salsa-dancing touchdown machine.
