"Guess I'll take a Logan Mankins jersey"

If you bought this at the Patriots
ProShop, you can exchange it
for another replica jersey July 6 and 7.

The New England Patriots are offering fans saddled with owning Aaron Hernandez replica jerseys they bought at the team's ProShop a chance to exchange them for other Patriots jerseys July 6 and 7.

That's great. Except that with all of the other departures and injuries, there aren't many players left whose jerseys would be wanted by the average Patriots fan. Sure, you might luck into a Tom Brady or Rob Grownkowski jersey if you get there at the very beginning of the jersey exchange. But, what are your choices after that if you're looking for a current player?

Stevan Ridley? Probably the No. 3 choice on the list because he rushed for 1,263 yards last year. But, he only moved up because Wes Welker left for Denver and Hernandez was released after being arrested Thursday in connection with the death of Odin Lloyd.

Danny Amendola? Otherwise known by Patriots fans as the guy replacing Welker. They're probably not ready to commit to supporting Amendola yet.

Logan Mankins? The most recognizable name on the Patriots offensive line, but he is still an offensive lineman. Average football fans don't usually want offensive linemen jerseys.

Jake Ballard? Also known as the guy who will be starting in place of Gronkowski and Hernandez at tight end. Again, probably not the first choice for Patriots fans, but he could be if he starts catching touchdown passes.

How about a defensive player's uniform? Vince Wilfork replica jerseys might be in demand, but I don't see too many Patriots fans asking for Aqib Talib or Jerod Mayo jerseys.

Perhaps, they'll want a Stephen Gostkowski jersey. Then again, when have kickers' jerseys been popular?

Hopefully, the Patriots will do the smart thing and order extra Brady and Gronkowski replica jerseys for next weekend's exchange.
