Another hockey prediction sure to go wrong

Well, I was only half right when it came to my NHL conference finals picks. Chicago fought off a stubborn Los Angeles Kings team to win the West, but ...

WHAT THE HELL, PITTSBURGH?!

Sorry, I thought waiting a few days might calm me down before writing this post. I was wrong.

So now, we have the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Finals -- our first "Original Six" match-up for Lord Stanley's chalice since 1979.

There isn't much separating these two teams. Chicago and Boston have played well at both ends of the ice during the postseason. They've been getting stout goaltending from Corey Crawford and Tuukka Rask, respectively. They're getting scoring from a variety of sources. And most of the players have held the Stanley Cup in recent years -- Chicago in 2010, and Boston in 2011 -- so they are even in terms of championship series experience.

With so much in common, who is going to be the one taking the Cup home with them? I'm taking Chicago in six games, but we all know what's happened to me when I've gone against Boston thus far in the NHL playoffs.

Again ... WHAT THE HELL, PITTSBURGH?
